Report Background

Door modules (DMs) seemed set for high penetration a few years ago, but of late its growth has slowed to a rate which belies the initial optimism. The module was a clear success offering off assembly line testing benefits along with opportunity for OEMs to hand out its assembly without much worries as it involved few and less complex components.

The industry saw a wide outsourcing of door modules in the early half of the decade, with most European OEMs taking the lead, while the Japanese and the North American OEM stepped in with caution.
