The trucking sector consists of freight and passenger transport by road. Freight covers both own-account (where a company transports its own goods using its own trucks) and hire & reward (where a transportation company offers trucking services to customers); owner-operators and larger fleets are included. The value of the freight segment is calculated on the basis of total road freight volume multiplied by average annual price per tonne-km. The passenger segment covers all road passenger transport other than private vehicles; it includes revenues generated from buse, coach, taxi, and similar services. All currency conversions are at constant average annual 2008 exchange rates
