Summary
By the end of 2006, there had been 114 urban commercial banks across China, with a total asset of RMB 2.59 trillion (5.9% of total assets of banking institutions in China). Net profits increased from RMB 1.3 billion of 2000 to RMB 18.1 billion in 2006. The quality of assets got significantly improved, and capital adequacy ratio was up to 8.48%. The ratio of bad loans dropped to 4.8%.
As of the end of 2006, total assets of Bank of Nanjing arrived at RMB 57.923 billion, a rise of 19.26% compared to the end of 2005. And total deposit stood at RMB 43.858 billion, up by 21.47% year-on-year. Net loans were RMB24.83 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 27.77%.
In 2006, the business income of Bank of Nanjing got to RMB1.509 billion, a rise of 23.79% compared to 2005, in which, net interest income was up to RMB1.382 billion, up by 21.44% year-on-year and taking 91.58% of total business income; the net revenue of commission charge reached RMB58.102 million, up by 37.52% year-on-year.
