One of the main points you mention in the piece is that fulcards can only be used for fuel and oil products, far from being a disadvantage this is one of the key selling points that we as fuel card suppliers use.

Most fleet managers are looking for ways to control their costs and to increase security. With a commerical rate fuelcard like those supplied by ourselves, companies can purchased fuel at a fixed weekly price, anywhere in the UK on one of our networks.

The fleet manager can be securee in the knowledge that the card can ONLY be used for fuel, unlike a credit card which can be "miss-used" to buy snacks and worse.

Also fuel cards unlike credit and debit cards awork on a closed "network". They do not contain any of the customers banking information so if lost or stolen are far kore secure than a credit card, as they cannot be used to obtain funds from the customers bank account or to steal the custoemrs identity.

I loved your article on Fuel Cards Under Threat from Visa and Mastercard. I would appreciate if i could access more information on radical solutions fuel card issuers have come up with to provide added value to the once traditional fuel cards.
