Summary

The Swedish IT outsourcing market is likely to benefit from the current credit crisis, as IT budgets are tightened and cost control is more in focus. On the other hand, deals could be postponed as end users stall any activity at all. "The market for infrastructure outsourcing services has been slow in the last couple of years. This will change during 2009, as more companies decide to outsource large parts of the IT infrastructure," said Staffan Sderman, research analyst at IDC Sweden. "Application management services will largely drive the IT outsourcing market, especially as this is a type of service that appeals to the enterprise segment. The market for hosted AM is the fastest growing segment, and this is a type of service well received by the midmarket, eliminating the need for hardware investments."
