Summary

This IDC study estimates the total IT security services market to be worth over US$2.6 billion in 2012. This is based on a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.4% over the forecast period. To understand the spending on security services by organizations, this study looks at the various drivers and inhibitors of the market, as well some of the key end-user insights obtained from the Asia/Pacific IT and Managed Services Survey conducted in 2008.

"The security services market will continue to grow as legislation pushes end users to be more cognizant of security, and the lack of manpower and expertise forces end users to turn to experts in the field for all aspects of securing their organization," says Gowtham Sampath, market analyst, IT Services, IDC Asia/Pacific.
