CMP Asia, formerly known as Miller Freeman Asia, is owned by UK-based United Business Media plc (UBM). Formed through a series of acquisitions since 1994, the businesses which make up CMP Asia have a track record of more than 25 years primarily as trade fair organisers. The company also publishes 22 trade titles and operates a number of websites which support the publications and the exhibitions business. CMP Asia organises 110 trade fairs each year. Most of the events are held in China, Japan, India and Thailand.

The company's headquarters is in Hong Kong, but CMP Asia maintains 14 offices around the region with a staff of over 600 people. Those offices are located in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Seoul, Taipei and New York.

CMP Asia's events business is particularly strong in the following industries: jewellery, furniture, beauty and health, industrial technology, information technology, hospitality, building materials and leather and accessories. The company's publications cover similar industries. Jewellery and beauty & health feature the most titles, ten and four respectively.
