This study draws on the results of IDC's European Vertical Markets Survey, carried out in March/April 2005 in the top 5 Western European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K.) among 728 SMBs with more than 20 and fewer than 500 employees.

This study looks at SMB usage and adoption plans for new technologies. Results are divided by company size (20?49, 50?99, 100?249, 250?499 employees) in the top 5 Western European countries in the following vertical markets: Banking; insurance and other finance; discrete manufacturing; process manufacturing; healthcare services; transport, telecommunications, media, and utilities; retail and wholesale; business services; education; and government.
