Summary

This IDC study presents the results of IDC's cluster analysis of China, India, and Thailand, focusing on the attitudes toward adoption and use of software as a service by SMB 2.0s, the most compelling sales target for technology providers targeting the 23.4 million Asia/Pacific SMBs.

"Chinese SMBs hold the greatest potential for both long- and short-term software-as-a-service sales growth among the three countries examined in this study, but India and Thailand should not be ignored as potential SMB markets," said Raymond Boggs, VP, SMB Research, at IDC. "Educating SMB owners and managers on the benefits of software as a service over the traditional on-premises model will be the key to sales success, along with the ability to provide the right solution at the right price with minimal delay."
