Summary

The installed base for Western European MFPs is forecast to increase as the overall shipment forecast continues to gain strength. The growth will be seen in all technology areas and buying areas. Most vendors make the most of their profits from consumables and so the key for them is to install as many devices as possible and to increase the usage patterns so people simply print more pages.

According to Phil Sargeant, senior research analyst, "The amount of pages printed on MFP devices in Western Europe will continue to increase as the installed base of the machines accumulates over the forecast period. There will be increases in both monochrome and color pages printed in the office environment. Inkjet will also see growth both in the home and in the office as inkjet printers continue their decline in favor of the MFP."
