This IDC study looks at the Carrier Ethernet services offered by global service providers (GSPs) and regional SPs (RSPs), their coverage of Ethernet services outside their home country, and some of the recent partnerships and business strategies in penetrating into the regional markets.

"As the economy recovers from the crisis, enterprises are beginning to enhance their IT infrastructures in anticipation of increased business demands. However, they are also cautious in their IT spending and will look for more scalable and cost-efficient data services such as Ethernet. Carriers are stepping up their Ethernet service offerings and capabilities by extending their reach, providing services beyond the standard offerings, and improving customer experiences," says Sherlin Pang, research manager, Asia/Pacific Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
