Summary

This IDC study provides a perspective on IT vendor activity in supporting and harnessing partner-to-partner (P2P) networks. Its purpose is to provide a context for industry activity in Canada around P2P, including vendor initiatives and programs that seek to address the impact of this trend. This study represents a view of different approaches in the market to provide as wide a lens as possible on the breadth of activity currently underway in the IT market in Canada.

"Partners that support and participate in P2P networks do so in response to a number of key factors that are forcing this behaviour, and vendors will need to align strategy to these activities and respond appropriately and proactively to derive any available benefit." - Paul Edwards, director of SMB and Channel Strategies, IDC Canada.
