Japan Managed Services Enterprise User Survey 2012

This IDC study, which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J12030103, summarizes the results of a survey on Japan businesses with 10 or more employees on their deployment of managed services and its future trends. On the whole, companies are motivated to spend on managed services. Many users are highly motivated to spend on iDC services, in particular the infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and on security system installation service and security consulting service. In addition, in the wake of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake, the demand for disaster recovery (DR)-related services and the interest in mobile device management following the spread of smart devices are increasing.

"Japan carriers that provide managed services should provide DR-related services that can address the various cost requirements in DR measures, as well as enhancing their mobile device management (MDM) service product lineup that take advantage of datacenters, cloud, and network," says Akiko Kawakami, research manager, Communications, IDC Japan.
