Summary

This IDC study highlights five software-on-demand adopters in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ market. They come from four different countries and vertical sectors. Some of them have recently extended their adoption of the on-demand delivery model toward other applications and business units. As data security and discomfort of off-site application hosting remain valid concerns to many users in the region, this study provides valuable insights on how customers learned that the benefits from software on demand outweigh these concerns.

"Most customers find the cost issue as the most appealing initial reason to consider software-on-demand applications. Despite of the obvious cost-related drivers, the conventional reason of finding a software that best fit their needs is the ultimate 'deal maker," says Sheila Lam, senior market analyst, Enterprise Applications, IDC Asia/Pacific.
