IBM Blue Cloud Computing Capabilities Continue to Expand, Crossing Three Continents

This IDC Flash analyzes the latest steps of IBM's Blue Cloud initiative, with IBM opening new cloud computing centers in Beijing, China, and Johannesburg, South Africa, as it expands IBM-enabled cloud computing capacity across geographic regions - and around the world. IBM's technology is enabling cloud computing capabilities for service-delivery partners, leveraging virtualization, Linux and open source, and systems management technology to group workloads and tasks into resource pools. IBM's new name for this virtualized-resource capability is "ensembles." These ensembles are aimed at simplifying IT infrastructure - and mapping it more closely to business processes and dynamic IT approaches to computing.
