Summary
This IDC study provides data and analysis on end-user organizations' plans and views on developer tools, developer networks/programs, and platforms. The results are extracted from an IDC survey of 150 senior IT managers in medium-sized and large organizations in Canada.
"When building software application development campaigns, vendors should include messages that reflect the most desired elements in a platform," says Kevin Restivo, senior software analyst with IDC. "Performance, security, and ease of integration messages will likely resonate best with medium-sized (100-499 employees) and large companies (500+ employees). However, large companies may also need acknowledgment of high-end workloads in a campaign too."
