In 2006, the global LCD TV shipment reached 52.7 million sets, up 95.8% from a year earlier. It is forecasted that LCD TV shipment in the world will amount to 72.9 million sets in 2007 and 100 million sets in 2008. And the figure will rise to 171.6 million sets in 2011. In the first quarter of 2007, the LCD TV sales revenue achieved USD 13.6 billion around the world, a rise of 54% compared to the same period of 2006.

The shipment of LCD TVs in mainland China in 2006 reached 4.78 million sets, up 214% year-on-year. In the first quarter of 2007, the total shipment of China LCD TV market was up to 7.113 million sets, among which 5.207 million sets were distributed abroad and 1.906 million sets (retail sales 1.528 million sets, commercial purpose sales 89,000 sets and, inventory 0.289 million sets) sold domestically in China.
