Summary

Your box joint's connected to your miter joint

It's no secret, times have been tough for furniture stores, looking to manufacturers abroad for cheap alternative products in an attempt to weather the economic storm. Positive economic conditions over the second half of 2009, coupled with a strengthening economy over 2010, will generate furniture demand. Housing start numbers by this time will also be improving, the only constraints on the industry left will be weakness in the US labor market, as the unemployment rate increases.

The industry comprises of establishments primarily engaged in retailing new furniture, such as household furniture (e.g. baby furniture box springs and mattresses) and outdoor furniture; office furniture (except those sold in combination with office supplies and equipment); and/or furniture sold in combination with major appliances, home electronics, home furnishings, and/or floor covering. This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
