Summary

Mature - still a kid at heart

Although there are some big names in this seasonal and 'fads' driven industry, making it somewhat concentrated, globalization and international trade are still relatively low. Inevitable mass retail consolidation is taking place as the kids are growing up faster, creating a disappearing customer base, with younger and younger children straying from the traditional wheel-based toys in favor of consuming electronic media. The intense competition won't let up in this technologically savvy environment, but volatility is low - thank goodness we're still kids at heart!

This industry comprises of establishments primarily engaged in retailing new toys, games, and hobby and craft supplies (except needlecraft). This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
