Added value of service industry in Shanxi province in 2003-2006 was respectively RMB117.67 billion, RMB137.6 billion and RMB156.39 billion, seeing year-on-year growth of 11.2%, 15.5% and 10.1% separately. In 2006, value added of transportation, storage, post & communication shared 27.5% of total; wholesale & retail trade and catering shared 23.0%, finance and insurance shared 8.0%, real estate shared 6.8% and others 34.7%.
