Review
The global economic crisis has led to renewed international calls for improved regulation and transparency in financial sectors, both onshore and offshore. The government continues to pledge assistance in the fight against crime, but progress is slow. The fiscal accounts will remain under intense pressure in 2009 as tourism earnings weaken and the offshore financial sector faces reduced profitability.
