2009 Utility Companies Plans for Stimulus Package Monies

Renewable energy sources are gaining attention, as fossil fuels continue to become short in supply and volatile in price. The alternative sources of power generation can ensure energy security. In addition, there is an increasing environmental concern about air pollution and electricity consumption. To address climate change and promote energy independence, the U.S government is encouraging alternative energy generation,through federal and state incentives,subsides, and standards for the use of renewable energy.This research service identifies the current purchase and generation of renewable energy among utilities,determine anticipated use of stimulus monies toward renewable energy,and analyze the implementation time frame.
