- Demand growth in Slovakia has been much weaker than in other Eastern European markets. In the decade to 2005, total demand grew by an average of 2.6% per annum.
- The Hungarian government is considering increasing gas prices by 5 to 10% during 2008 to overcome increased wholesale prices levied by Gazprom.
- Bulgargaz and Italy's Enel have undertaken a study of the feasibility of building a pipeline linking Bulgaria and Italy via Macedonia and Albania.
