In 2006, the amount of generated electricity nationwide achieved 2.86 trillion KWh with the year-on-year increase of 13.5%, among which the generated hydropower achieved 416.7 billion KWh with year-on-year increase of 5.1%; generated thermal power 2.3573 trillion KWh with year-on-year increase of 15.3%; nuclear power 54.3 billion KWh with year-on-year increase of 2.4%.
