Americans love their coffee, however the US Coffee Production industry has been brewing rather slowly in the last few years. Following a period of volatility during most of the 1990s, the industry began to make a recovery as the health benefits of coffee consumption were aggressively promoted in the media and the scientific literature was awash with evidence of the same.This industry includes establishments primarily engaged in the production of coffee, with their manufacturing operations being based in the United States. Producers operating within this industry mainly purchase Arabica and Robusta varieties of coffee beans, and to a smaller extent Peaberry beans, and subsequently process them into roasted or ground coffee products. Manufacturers predominantly sell their finished coffee products to grocery wholesalers, retailers, the foodservice industry and overseas export markets. This industry does not include sale or distribution of coffee products to final consumers.
