Pirelli Ambiente is the group's representative in the energy field, with the objective of transforming waste into alternative fuels non-dedicated industrial systems. On October 25, 2007, the Group sold its shares in Olimpia to Telco. Pirelli is headquartered in Milan, Italy and employed 30,813 people as on December 2007. The group recorded revenues of E6,504.5 million (approximately $8,916 million) during the fiscal year ended December 2007, an increase of 34.4% over 2006. The increase in revenues is primarily due to the deconsolidation of the activities of the DGAG companies in 2007 for an amount equal to E 1,295.6 million. The operating profit of the group was E367 million (approximately $503.1 million) during fiscal year 2007, a decrease of 8.5% compared with 2006. The net profit was E165 million (approximately $226.2 million) in fiscal year 2007, as compared with a net loss of E1,167 (approximately $1,600 million) million in 2006.
