Summary

This study provides the analysis of the results of IDC's Manufacturing Insights' most recent survey carried out in Western Europe.

The survey is based on 284 interviews with process manufacturing firms in Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, and Spain.

The aim of this study is to understand how IS budget spending and distribution is developing among process manufacturing enterprises in Western Europe, and how it supports the leading business initiatives.

"The majority of process manufacturing companies is now focused on adapting the IT function to better serve business needs, rather than just managing technology," said Pierfrancesco Manenti, EMEA research director at Manufacturing Insights, an IDC Company. "This is a great opportunity for CIOs that are willing to move to the boardroom."
