Summary
As a specialized equipment sub-industry of large machinery industry, construction machinery industry can be divided into three categories: shovelling and transporting machinery, compact machinery and concrete machinery. Influenced by policy and external demands, the development of construction machinery industry appears a distinctly cyclic feature. The fixed assets investment scale and growth is highly related with the construction machinery industry Since China carried on macro-control in March 2004, China construction machinery industry entered the declining period quickly from the economic prosperity peak. After more than two years of regulation, China construction machinery industry entered the overall recovery period. In the first quarter of 2006, the three major products shovelling and transporting machinery, compact machinery and concrete machinery achieved a growth rate of above 20%, indicating the obviously overall recovery status.
According to the statistics, the market total amount of China construction machinery reached USD15.5 billion in 2005, in which the import &export total amount was USD 6.018 billion, with import USD3.064 billion and export USD 2.94 billion. During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2005-2010), China launches a series of major projects on railway, highway, water conservancy, water source, the issue of agriculture, countryside and farmers, energy and mine construction, as well as environment control and construction etc., will become the key investment prospects. All these projects bring new development and business opportunities for not only China construction machinery, but also global construction machinery suppliers and project contractors.
Compared with the same products of foreign construction machinery enterprises, those of China are 10%-40% lower in price. However, the quality of these products is close to or equal to the international level, with obvious advantage when at equal price level. Many engineering crane products made in China have a broad overseas market; with the world top manufacturing techniques. However, certain margin still exists when comparing with developed countries like European countries, America and Japan
The report consists of four parts including the status quo of the construction machinery industry, construction machinery products development forecast in 2006, strategic options for competition and development of the construction machinery industry in 2006, and investment suggestions for the construction machinery industry in 2006.
The report is based on the data from authorities such as China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), the Machinery Industry Association, the State Information Centre and National Bureau Statistics of China, and the market research we made in construction machinery industry. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, we provide considerate and prudent forecast and argument for the development trend of China construction machinery industry.
The report mainly provides references to construction machinery manufacturing enterprises, leasing enterprises and financial groups interested in the industry.
