Summary
The anticipated level of legal casino gaming activity (legal GGR: gross gaming revenue) within Asia in calendar year 2006 will be healthy and show substantial growth from calendar year 2005. We anticipate a significant monthly run rate increase in Asian GGR in 4Q of 2006.
One of the main drivers for this year over year growth has been the continued increase in the creation of new tourism value propositions in Macau and the associated increased activity at casino gaming facilities in Macau. In particular, we believe that casino gaming revenue is a primary beneficiary of the creation of a holistic tourism destination in Macau, rather than just a casino gaming centric destination.
Other markets in Asia, such as Australia and South Korea, will continue to perform well in 2006. In particular, we believe the liberalization of casino gaming in South Korea will drive new growth in the market.
This report offers a current analysis on the outlook of Asia's casino gaming industry for 2006.
