Highlights
CLIMB (Computational Lead Identification Modeling Biology) is SuperGen's approach to small molecule drug discovery, which merges rapid screening of compound libraries with computational chemistry and systems biology techniques to identify drug leads that bind to target proteins.
Three compounds have been the primary focus of SuperGen's efforts: Dacogen for injection, Orathecin capsules and Nipent (pentostatin for injection). In 2006, Dacogen received approval for marketing in the US, Orathecin was withdrawn from the regulatory review process, Nipent and commercial infrastructure was sold to Mayne Pharma (Hospira).
SuperGen's pipeline includes MP470 Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor/Rad 51 Suppressor and MP529 Aurora A Kinase Inhibitor, which are in preclinical stage of development. SuperGen has derived its revenues from product sales of Nipent and Surface Safe products, royalty from Dacogen sales by MGI Pharma and license fees.
