The revenue of the Indian biotechnology industry reached Rs65,210 million in 2005-06, up 37.42% from Rs 47,450 million in 2004-05. In 2005-06, as many as ten Indian companies reported a revenue of Rs1,000 million and above, compared to six companies in 2004-05. In 2005-06, Biopharmaceuticals accounted for 72.20% of industry revenue, followed by bioservices (11.04%), agriculture sector (9.17%), bioindustry (5.75%) and bioinformatics (1.84%).The report on Indian Biotechnology covers the industry size and its growth over the past few years.
