Of this amount more than one-third ($467 billion) is attributable to renewable energy sources, such as biofuels, solar, tidal, and wind power.
Cleantech Current Status and Worldwide Outlook reports that together these segments are expected to grow from a current value of $104 billion to approximately $467 billion in 2017. The cleantech market is the third largest venture-capital investment category, behind only biotech and software.

Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors, has added a new report which finds that some top companies will need to re-evaluate strategy as the growth rates for the $38bn infectious disease market has fallen over the 2005-2006 period.
The report, Commercial Insight: Infectious Diseases Overview, finds that 10 players account for two thirds of seven major market chemotherapeutic anti-infective sales by value, but just one third by volume. It says that these companies have, collectively, been worst hit by the market slowdown, making it necessary for them to implement key changes.

New Report analyses Wireless Data Drive Revenue Growth in Canadian Telecommunications
Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors, has added a new report showing that despite slowing wireless subscriber growth in Canada, wireless revenues are being underpinned by strong wireless data revenue growth.
2008 Canada - Telecoms, Wireless and Broadband reports that, for 2006, overall telecom service revenues grew 4.5% to $36 billion. The majority of the growth was accounted for by the wireless (15% growth) and broadband (18% growth) sectors. In contrast, long distance revenues fell by 7%. It is estimated that for 2007, wireless and broadband together accounted for over 50% of total telecom industry revenues.

The direct cost of diabetes care alone is currently estimated to be $100 billion.
