This IDC Insight is an update of our previous study, WiMAX - Deployment Status in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) (IDC #<A href="/getdoc.jsp?containerId=AP201413Q">AP201413Q</A>, March 2008). The focus of the paper is on technology trials and network rollout status in 10 APEJ countries: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. With only a handful of countries in APEJ still not having issued broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum licenses, regulatory developments are included in the relevant country sections. Notable activities by homegrown vendors are also included in the relevant country's section.
