Summary
This IDC study examines the offerings and performance of Australia's four mobile broadband networks. Based on over 1,500 independent tests carried out over a five-month period, IDC compares and contrasts the performance of each network along with the carriers' strategies and network expansion plans for 2009. This study includes an outlook of the market into 2009, along with key drivers for the continued growth of mobile broadband into the coming year.
"2008 has seen the mobile broadband revolution sweep the nation, with prices falling as much as 78% in 12 months and download allowances doubling. What we have seen has been nothing short of amazing, yet mobile broadband is still in its infancy stage and there are plenty more surprises to come in 2009," says Mark Novosel, market analyst, Telecommunications, IDC Australia.
