Founded in 1961, ECI Telecom designs, develops, manufactures, markets and supports broadband access, transport and data networking infrastructure.

The company's 300+ customers include some of the world's largest carriers and service providers.

In September 2007, ECI was acquired by affiliates of the Swarth Group and certain funds that had appointed Ashmore Investment Management as their investment manager, for a total value of approximately US$1.24bn.
