Summary
This IDC study examines the state of unified communications (UC) adoption in Canada and provides vendors with advice on bundling applications to match end-user desires. According to Jason Bremner, director, Infrastructure Hardware research,
"our research of Canadian companies shows that although buyers hear vendors' messages that UC improves employee and organizational efficiency, they believe UC has only a minor, or no, impact on increasing efficiency. Customers are unlikely to purchase UC solutions based on blind faith alone." Using factor analysis and cluster analysis statistical methods, IDC shows there are two natural groupings of UC applications in the minds of Canadian buyers. UC providers should offer application bundles to match the groupings to properly align their offerings to market need.
