Teleworking in Government

This Government Insights Perspective highlights a great opportunity for government organizations. While teleworking provides an opportunity for government workers to save time and gas, decrease the carbon footprint, and reduce traffic congestion and infrastructure impact in urban areas — and is foundational to continuity of operations (COOP) needs for a distributed workforce — the biggest opportunity for government is that progressive government telecommuting policies will help attract new workers at both ends of the age spectrum: the millennium generation and retired workers looking to supplement retirement benefits and serve their government.
