Company background

Kenfair International is a publicly-traded exhibition organiser based in Hong Kong. Founded in 1991, Kenfair's core business activity is organising exhibitions. The company also publishes a sourcing magazine, operates a related sourcing website and maintains a travel agency business.

Kenfair's flagship exhibitions are the Hong Kong International Toys & Gifts Show and the Asian Gifts, Premiums & Household Products Show. Held concurrently each October in Hong Kong, these two sourcing exhibitions are collectively referred to as Mega Show Part 1. These shows were launched by Kenfair in 1992 and they have expanded significantly over the past 16 years.

According to Kenfair, the 2007 edition of the Mega Show Part 1 featured over 3,348 exhibitors and Mega Show Part 2 hosted 677 exhibitors. Together Part 1 and 2 attracted 72,000 visitors. Mega Show Part 2 is held concurrently with a sister show, Table Objects Asia featuring tableware manufacturers from around the region.

The inaugural Mega Macau exhibition was held at the Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Centre in October 2007 which Kenfair claims featured 923 exhibitors and over 8,000 visitors. The company held a second edition of the event in April 2008, but references to all future editions of the Mega Macau event have been removed from Kenfair's website as well as the Venetian's website. An article in the South China Morning Post on 15th September, 2008 confirmed that the October edition of the Mega Macau show has been cancelled, but the article also suggested that the April 2009 edition may go ahead. Beyond that, the future of Mega Macau shows is uncertain.
