Summary

Flying High

Technology change is medium in this rather concentrated industry, with enhanced products such as biometric ID cards being trialed for frequent flyers. Improvements on existing practises is always a focus in a mature environment, more so as compliance to a high level of regulations and legislations means huge capital costs to bear. This also has the effect of keeping others on the ground, but with private ownership of airports prohibited by law, the barriers are already sky high.

This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in (1) operating international, national, or civil airports or public flying field or (2) supporting airport operations (except special food services contractors), such as rental of hangar space, air traffic control services, baggage handling services, and cargo handling services. This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
