STUDY GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The goal of this study is to help readers form a comprehensive understanding of the recent advances and trends in manufacturing, applications, technologies, and global and regional markets for rigid transparent plastics. In this report, rigid transparent plastics refer to rigid plastics with light transmission percentage of more than 80%.
Four objectives are met in this report. First, major types of rigid transparent plastics and the future demand for these are described. Second, main technologies of rigid transparent plastics manufacturing are discussed. Third, commercial applications in which rigid transparent plastics are used are discussed. Last, present consumption and future demand for rigid transparent plastics are divided into five world regions: China, Asia, Europe, South America and the rest of the world (ROW). The first four regions will be evaluated and analyzed. The ROW segment is very small; to simplify the analysis, this report doesn’t include the ROW market. In this report, China refers to Mainland China and does not include Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau; Asia does not include Mainland China, but covers Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and other Asian countries.
This report does not cover the North American rigid transparent plastics market, which is described in the separate report Rigid Transparent Plastics (code PLS003J) by Melvin Schlechter. However, North American manufacturers are addressed if they supply the above five regions.

The ABS sector will cover the technologies and production of styrene acrylonitrile (SAN), also known as acrylonitrile styrene (AS).
