This IDC study provides in-depth analysis of the Philippines telecommunications services market in the early half of 2014 as well as a forecast for the period until 2018. With total spending of PHP112.8 billion in the first half of 2014, the market is expected to record spending of PHP224.8 billion in 2014 and continue to grow steadily within the forecast period at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.4% to PHP256.7 billion in 2018.
"The telecommunications services market in the Philippines has been resilient and remained stable in the last few years and is expected to grow steadily until 2018. Looking at the current state of the Philippines telecommunications services and comparing it with other emerging as well as developed markets, there is still a huge opportunity for the service providers to grab and drive the telecom market. As market trends are expected to continue to change, service providers need to be more reactive to the dynamics of users' demand across all segments, in order to increase their market share and retain overall growth," says Alfie Amir, research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific.
