In December 2011, CEP signed a Record of Decision for the project with Bureau of Land Management of Oregon.

On January 2, 2012, the project proposal was approved by US Department of the Interior.

On February 22, 2013, the Bureau of Land Management revoked the limited notice to Proceed and refunded the bond to the project proponent.

In December 2015, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) reviewed the EIS.

In March 2016, CEP received approvals from Bureau of Land Management.

In 2106, project was placed on hold due to the reduced energy demand and on April 18, BLM granted approvals under the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.

Project is facing delay due to the environmental as well as legal issues.
