Baby business: Continued growth in per capita disposable income is expected to benefit the industry
Abstract
Day Care in the US The Day Care industry provides day care to infants and children in addition to preschool services. Over the five years to 2019, industry revenue has grown as a result of sustained low unemployment and increased disposable income amid high demand for child care services. During the period, demand for child care services has remained strong despite the high and increasing cost of day care services. Sustained low unemployment and continued growth in per capita disposable income is expected to benefit the industry as child care services are likely to remain in high demand. Nonetheless, the high cost of day care services are likely to continue to be a significant burden to some families, which could negatively affect the industry moving forward.
Industry operators provide day care services for children, primarily those under the age of five. Industry operators may also run preschool programs that prepare three- and four-year-old children for kindergarten. However, kindergarten education and in-home nanny services are excluded from industry services.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
