Europe is facing a talent crisis. There has long been excess demand for IT skills, but the strong digital transformation trend is only exacerbating the issue. Estimates developed by IDC and consortium partners for the European Commission show a gap of 750,000 people across the EU by 2020. How does Europe face this significant talent challenge? "While European employers would like to be able to hire the exact technology skills they need, there is a clear trend to upskill and retrain the existing workforce. New graduates are also part of the talent strategy but are not expected to be experts when they join -- employers are ready to provide training.
