This IDC Perspective discusses new enterprise applications that are aiding business resiliency. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, resilient organizations have filled in business process gaps with new enterprise applications. In the latest COVID-19 Impact on IT Spending Survey (conducted from August 26 to September 6, 2020), IDC confirms that organizations are both purchasing and creating new applications. Globally, organizations have purchased or created on average at least three new applications. This document defines these new enterprise application spending areas."The pandemic has brought a new organizational focus on productivity.
