From 16 March, in order to fight the spread of the pandemic, retail outlets were mandated by the government to close, with the exception of grocery retailers, drugstores, pharmacies, forecourt retailers and pet shops and superstores. Wearing a face mask was mandatory for all customers and employees. All foodservice outlets were obliged to close, except for delivery and takeaway. Non-essential stores up to 300 sq m were allowed to open again on 22 April.
