Asia leads in share of B2C E-Commerce transacted via Mobile, says the report

The APAC region leads globally in M-Commerce sales volume.

The Asia-Pacific region leads the world in online sales through mobile devices, and also in the share of total E-Commerce conducted through mobile. This global leadership is expected to continue at least through the next five years as a greater percentage of the huge population of the region goes online through newly acquired smartphones. According to data cited in the report, over a third of total online retail sales in the Asia-Pacific region was conducted on mobile devices last year.

China dominates Asia and the world in M-Commerce.

China alone generates more sales through mobile device than any other nation in the world and by 2021 may be the source of about three-fourths of global M-Commerce, according to projections in the report. Online shopping through a mobile is a driver of continued growth of electronic commerce in South Korea, Japan and other countries of the region as well.
