This IDC study provides a sizing of the CRM applications market in 2014 and vendor share of the top vendors; historical revenue data is shown for the APEJ region. The regional revenue for the CRM market was US$1.6 billion in 2014, representing a growth of 8.6% over 2013. Although this still represents a strong growth for a mature market such as CRM, it's much lower than the 12.3% growth witnessed in 2013. Part of this decline will have to be attributed to the shift in deployment model from on-premise to public cloud, as it not only cannibalizes new license deployments, but also due to the reduction in maintenance revenue from existing on-premise customers who are already considering a move to a SaaS-based CRM and see paying yearly maintenance as wasteful spending. The public cloud CRM software market increased by 26.7% in 2014 (which was 25.5% in 2013) to stand at US$447 million.
