The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is undertaking the construction of a headquarters command and control facility in Fort Gordon, Georgia, the US.

The project involves the construction of a headquarters command and control facility. The project is developed in two phases.

The US$85.1 million first phase of construction includes new facilities supporting Army cyber operations and command and control functions. The second phase of construction includes a home for Cyber Protection Team operations, capable of supporting more than 1,200 cyber soldiers and civilians.

It will also include the construction of an operations center, a specialized technical operations center, a special access program area, an administrative facility, parking spaces and related facilities.

On February 12, 2016, USACE plans to issue technical proposals from companies which involve the evaluation of proposers’ past performance with the documents submission date as March 14, 2016.

In May 2016, USACE has issued request for qualification (RFP) for ACC-Sauer JV, LLC, Archer Western Contractors, LLC, BL Harbert International, LLC, Caddell Construction Co. (DE), LLC, Clark Construction Group, LLC, Fluor Federal Solutions, LLC, Hensel Phelps, Turner Construction Company and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company to construct the facility with the bid submission due date by July 2016.

As of July 22, 2016, five companies have submitted bid to participate in the project. The five companies are ACC-Sauer JV, LLC, Archer Western Contractors, LLC, BL Harbert International, LLC, Caddell Construction Co. (DE), LLC and Fluor Federal Solutions.

On August 29, 2016, BL Harbert International, LLC was awarded US$165 million construction contract.

On November 29, 2016, construction works commenced with groundbreaking ceremony on first phase.

In January 2018, construction works commenced with groundbreaking ceremony on second phase.

The first phase is scheduled to be completed in May 2018 and second phase in the last quarter of 2018.
