High Speed Rail Corporation of India Ltd (HSRC), a subsidiary of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd is planning to build a high speed rail link between Delhi and Mumbai in India.

The project involves the construction of a 1,384km a high speed rail link. It includes the construction of railway stations, support structures and related infrastructure, the installation of signaling systems and information boards, and the laying of rail tracks.

In September 2015, HSRC selected Lahmeyer International GmbH and The Third Railway Survey and Design Institute Group Corporation to conduct a feasibility study for the project.

The project received planning approval from Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Railways and is awaiting approval from the cabinet.

HSRC is in process of preparing blueprint for the project.

Subject to approvals, the fencing and other major works on the project will commence and entire project will be completed by the third quarter of 2022.
